Dog bath....... help!?

My dog is very tiny she is about 4 pounds and i just finished giving her a bath. but on one side of her face, near her nose, her hair was matted. So i cut it with scissors, and i cut some of her whiskers off... is my dog going to be ok?

Dog bath....... help!?

yes, she'll be fine. they'll grow back.

maybe next time, you sould take her to a professional groomer.

cutting matted fur with scissors can be dangerous, as you can cut your dog or cat really easily.

Dog bath....... help!?

i think so. they usually grow anyways

Dog bath....... help!?

yes its ok, the whiskers will grow back. Just be careful in the future..I don't know if its true but I heard the whiskers help with balance

Dog bath....... help!?

She may feel a little odd, but I don't think that you really hurt her.

Dog bath....... help!?

try not to cut whiskers because they are a lot more than just little strings sticking out of a dog's head, and you're dog is going to be fine.

but if you want to give her a haircut, i suggest dry her first so you know what she'll look like AFTER she's done drying.

She will be fine as long as you didn't cut them all. I would also suggest you get a pair of dog clippers if she matts frequently and use a 10 blade to cut at the skin but only at the root of the mat. Any other blade could cut her skin but a 10 blade won't unless you absolutely try to make it. With scissors she could turn quickly or jump and you could actually stab her.

She should be ok. They will regrow. I know cats lose them all the time.

Dog bath....... help!?

It'll be just fine, but ya might want to even up the whiskers.

Dog bath....... help!?

Yes, she will be fine. Dogs don't really need them. For dog shows, the whiskers are frequently cut off as part of the show-grooming.

Dog bath....... help!?

Yes she is, just dont give her anything too cold or hot for a while. You just cut off the only way she can sense temperature.

youre little dog will be ok . ive done the same thing and i was worried sick . i just obseved him and he seemed fine . i guess they need to be cut sometimes to help from them getting to long

Dog bath....... help!?

She'll survive and they will grow back. I wouldn't try to cut the other side to even her up however.

Dog bath....... help!?

Well, if she was a cat I'd tell you the fun stories about how they use their whiskers for balance and how cutting off one side messes them up ............BUT it is a dog. Whiskers don't do anything to a dog but make them look cute. The groomer shaves our dogs off all the time. They just get spiky and pokey when tey fist start to grow back.

Dog bath....... help!?

your dog will be fine, its not that big of a deal.

Dog bath....... help!?

She'll be fine, lots of breeds get their whiskers cut as a regular part of grooming (like poodles).

Dog bath....... help!?

Yes. She will be fine. When I do a groom on my dog her face is shaved and all those whiskers go-she hasn't a clue! You may want to use a bit of conditioner and comb it through the mat to work it out next time. Be gentle with it. People conditioner is fine for this purpose.

Whiskers do grow back. I used to work in a dog grooming shop. Matting can hurt you dog and sometime cut off circulation. If you can't afford to take her to a groomer then it would be a good idea to read up on some tips about how to. Now that you've gotten rid of the matted fir try to brush her every day. she is only 4lbs. so it shouldn't hard to take care of her. good luck.

They will grow back, but I would have it groomed from now on. Dogs need their whiskers as sensors. My dogs don't like to have their whiskers touched - I think they make their noses ticklish or something.

My dog had the same problem. We took it to the groomer and they told us that just to ignore it and it will be ok
