Taking my dog from thailand to the uk?

I want to bring my dog with me from thailand to the uk when i return home later this year, she is a 4 month old chiouwa/minature german pincher mix that i rescued from the street about 3 months ago, when i found her she had no hair, an injured leg and was quite badly treated from what i could see.

now she is a lively little thing with a silky coat, healed to perfection and looking like a crufts dog :-)

Anyway, im very attatched to her and i really cant leave her behind, that would be unfair to her and me as she is a big part of my life, i looked on DEFRA and PETS but theres no answers to how i can do this, She has had her Rabies jab and her Quantum Dog DA2PPvL/(+CV) The main vaccination required for protection against hep/flu/adenovirus etc.

If anyone out there has done this before, or bought a dog to the uk from a non eu country your help will be appreciated, i understand she will have to go in quarantine, but i really cant leave her behind.

Thanks people

woah. I'm GOING to Thailand in June for 2 months and i KNOW i'll probably become attached to dogs there. When do you leave? Also, try contacting some of the dog rescue websites (I looked up a ton of dog rescue websites in case I wanted to stop by) -- they'll definitely be able to help you out since they adopt out dogs. I have an entire list of them so if you want I can email them to you. in fact I'm going to email you because i'm in the middle of planning my trip and i got sidetracked!!!

I think the quarantine is six weeks.Good for you saving her. Have a good trip.

She needs to be micro-chipped *before* her rabies vaccination. So, if she isn't chipped, it has to be repeated, and six months before you leave. I will post a site, so please check back in a few minutes

Here is the page you need, as Thailand is an unlisted country%26gt; http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/quaranti...

there are the forms to download and numbers to contact for more questions.

You might consider using a pet travel agent, such as this one%26gt; http://www.petmovers.com/?gclid=CKXa45uM...

to help you make all arrangements, and make them properly.

Pets passport won't apply from Thailand so you are looking at six months quarantine.

Look on the DEFRA site and under quarantine there will be links to Kennels.

The kennels should be able to help you arrange everything.
