get your dog to a vet. Sounds like the poor thing may be suffering from worms or mites or something. But please end your poor dog's suffering and get him to a vet to get proper medicine for him.

Try oatmeal and baking soda shampoo for dogs--
make sure he don't have fleas.-use a flea comb on him.

I'm glad you asked this question. I have asked my vet about my dog doing the same thing but he couldn't find any reason for it.

you need to take him to the vet. he could have serious fleas that are making him itch, he could an allergy to comething. for the fleas they will give him frontline or something similar, and if its just allergies they may try prednisone for awhile along with benadryl. but i would take him to the vet because you want to make sure that where he's been stratching at doesn't get inflammed or infected and you need to find out what is causing him to itch.

Worms?
or do you have 'wandering dew', it is a plant that irritates dogs feet etc. do a search for it, and see if it looks like a plant you have in your yard.
or is it just bored? do you walk your dog at all? boredom makes dogs do strange things

Allergies probley go to the vet
The dog that never stops scratching?
It is probably due to fleas, they generally hatch in the cooler temps. 60-75 degrees. Try treating this. If you have already treated for fleas, it could be allergies. He might need a shot from
your vet for this. hope this helps

get a sulfur based cream but take him to the vet to see if he has a skin condition that causes it or an allergy of some sort
The dog that never stops scratching?
sounds like he may have allergies. there is certain allergic shampoos you can get, a good one to help is any anti-fungal shampoos from the vet, call usually you dont need a Rx plus they have spray to help with this too, oh and also maybe give him some OTC Benadryl this usually helps.but dont forget to always consult you Vet.

If He or Her is rubbing the fur off the it could be worms or the anal glands are full and you need to take him or her to the groomers to get them poped or do it yourself

take your dog to the vet. They will know what to do. It doesn't sound really serious. It just sounds like a hot spot.

He probable has some "hot spots" dermatis my little dog would bump her back end under the edge of the couch till she had a bald spots. You can get Sulfodene for dogs at wal-malt and I know you can get it at a pet shop, but it treats HotSpots, Moist dermatitis, and Eczema. This is probable what is wrong if your dog scratches, has hair loss, and or redness. It is under $5.00 in cost and worth it. Till you can get it, a little Benadryl will help.

I had a Chihuahua The vet told us he had allergies. The nurse told us to get benadryl for him. I got the dis-solvable ones. I only gave him 1/4 then when it was real bad I would give him half. You have to be careful it will make him sleep. Good Luck, Becky
