My 6 year old Boston Terrier has had chicken-pox like bumps all over her body since yesterday. The bumps are generally on her back (where there is the most hair) but there are some on her belly and legs. She is an inside dog and does not get into anything abnormal. There are no signs of fleas or ticks, and the weather has been cold (so I don't think it's weather related). She is not iching too much, and over all she seems to be acting normal (she has been eating and drinking normally). I have given her Benadryl today hoping it would help the bumps go down, but they have not changed since yesterday. Also, my boyfriend has a Staffordshire Terrier who seems to have the same bumps, just not nearly as severe. I'm thinking it may an allergic reaction to something...but she hasn't had any changes with food or surroundings lately. I called and made a vet appointment but it's 5 days away. Any suggestions of what it could be or what I should do until then?

I know exactly what your talking about my Italian Greyhound dog had the same thing and we took him to the vet and he prescribed him some special science diet duck formula canned food for him and he hasn't had those bumps since. Many popular pet foods company's put things in the food that are bad for your dog so it may be a reaction to that. If I were you I would take your dog to the vet and ask maybe if it's his food that's creating these bumps.

Take to the vet as soon as possible.
but some breeds do get this, like Schnauzers, it is called Sch nauzers bumps, some of them get it, some don't, I have seen Bostons have the same thing, but to be on the safe side, take to the bet just in case

Don't wait five days. Take your dog to the vet now. You may have to wait several hours, but demand that someone look at your dog. You would do the same for your child!

Sounds like hives from an allergic reaction.
They aren't serious, but are definitely uncomfortable!
I would at the very least CALL your Vet tomorrow, or call an Emergency Vet tonight, and ask what it is you can do.
If they recommend you bring him in, then do so.
Terriers are prone to skin issues! My Pit Bull has chronic Hives from allergies. I now give her antihistamines. (With the recommendation from the Vet)

have you changed clothes detergent and washed her bedding in it? Thats weird that 2 dogs are having same problem. Think real hard on any changes in surroundings, you may have missed something. How about any carpet freshener you may have sprinkled on carpet and swept up? I have 2 Bostons also, I love my babies. Good luck.
