Help - hair is driving me mad !!!?

at christmas i got a puppy.

pretty, fragile puppy dog eyed creature.

love it to bits.

but her hair is everywhere !!

i dont know how people with pets do it

everywhere i go there is sheded hair.

on clothes, furniture and i'll be damned if it comes out of the carpet!

shes a jack russel and the little hairs [in HUGE amounts] that come off her are a nusance to get off things.

any ideas ?

i have a kick *** hoover and thats having trouble with the hair on the carpet - it makes the place look untidy! :(

I use a Dyson vac and lint rollers for clothes and furniture, I've got 2 Labs and the hairs are just something you get used to.

My 2 seem to take it in turns to shed their hairs, so I've never got a shedding free time, we're always knee deep in hairs.

Brush her everyday, and it will lessen the shedding. That's what owning a dog is all about! An outfit, just isn't an outfit with some dog hair on it!

I use a shedding blade (brushed outside) on my pack of 4..it helps this time of year. It's a rounded curved blade with dull teeth and it sort of pulls out the loose hairs when they are shedding. The dog groomer taught me this one, and it really works well. Though my home still isn't hair free. probably never will be..LOL

Try bathing her every 3 weeks. This will reduce the amount of hair shed at once. If you regularly brush her as well that will also reduce the hair in the house. You can get a cloth that could pick up all that hair thats all over your house, they are called shammys. I would strongly recomend to get a new vaccum (specifically made for pet hair) because obviously you will have this pup for years to come and your vaccum cant handle it.

when i walk my dog i gently pull her hair (it falls out on is own) this helps... also right now it is getting warmer so ur dog doesn't need such a think coat... when it cools off they dont shead as much...

brush your baby daily, and the dog mite need some oli its diet! My dogs do that to and After i started this dog food that as oils it and brushed her daily. i dont drill with hair anymore!

I use a broom, or a short handled brush like they sell at truckstops for cleaning tires, or at walmart.

Walmart Mainstays 7-56093-00240-6 "Gong Brush"

Hardware store: Carlisle #40540 brush

or

a broom with really stiff bristles. I brush the loose hairs and then pull or comb them from the brush and put them in the trash BEFORE I vacuum.

Heavy shedding dogs are death on MANY vacuums.

ALSO... get a slicker brush and a rake, and brush the dog with both on a regular basis. This way you'll pull the loose hairs out and can put them in the trash more easily.

You need to brush her every day. Any vacuum that has a filter sucks *** with dog fur. Dyson's work completely freaking amazing and you will want to kiss the vacuum afterwords. Keep lint rollers available for clothing and put a sheet/blanket over the furniture that your dog sleeps on. Shedding is just part of owning a dog.

Brush her everyday to help. She's probably losing her winter coat. As far as the hair in the carpet, use an anti-static spray. I prefer Arm n Hammer Pet Fresh carpet spray, but Static Guard will work too. Use your vaccuum after it dries. The spray will remove the static, and make it easier for the vaccuum to pick it up.
