Dog matts????

i brush my dog once a day but she matts so quickly ive cut more hair then she has any ideas? she doesnt get dirty or rub her hair in the ground

Are you just brushing the top layers or getting from the skin level to the end? I take small sections at a time and brush first, then comb from the back up while holding up the fur and combing toward the direction it grows.

Have you tried a DOG creme rinse? Check with what groomers are using these days. My llasa/cocker poo used to be the same; her fur was thick but very fine. The creme rinses worked better and brushing was more efficient with less tangling. I used to keep her face clipped and only had here at the groomers 2x's a year for thinning out the thickest areas and a trim. Hope this was helpful.

I use Johnson %26amp; Johnson baby no more tangles spray and it works great to detangle hair and matts!

What kinda of combs do you have?? Do you have the proper combs? I use a slicker a least once a day to take the knots out of my dogs hair, a regular comb won`t take the knots out.
