Which dog should I get: Indian Greyhound, Min-Pinscher, or Manchester Terrier?

I'm looking to get a dog in a few months and am debating heavily between the three breeds. These three breeds seems the most appropriate for my present situation and desires in a dog:

I live in an apartment (soon to be condo or small home) with limited yard access ( fenced in playing fields within a couple of blocks though).

I am active and would like my dog to be as well.

I'm looking for a loyal, intelligent dog (that is trainable).

No allergies and willing to clean but would prefer short or smooth hair.

Looking at smaller breeds due entirely to living situation -- don't want a small dog that seems small.

Costs I may be looking at (going rate, for example) and other overlooked info would be much appreciate.

Mini pins are one of the happiest dog breeds out there. If you're worried about noise, I wouldn't go with them. Despite that, they're similar in costs and activity. Up here in central Canada they go for about $1000 each. Mini pins and Manchesters both do well in obedience, agility and overall are very quick, quirky dogs.

I've not heard of the Indian greyhound. I know of the Italian greyhound and could give you a lot of info about them as that's one of the sighthound breeds I intend on adopting in the future :-) . They're also very intelligent and are active little dogs that are rather quiet compared to other breeds. Their down side is that they can be **VERY** hard to potty train, so expect some chaos if you consider these guys.

Another breed you may be interested in are Whippets. I grew up with them and are very quiet. They're active but not overly so. They're medium sized dogs. Smaller than a greyhound but larger than the Pin and Manchester you're interested in. Their down side is that they're very people oriented dogs that hate being left alone. They can develop separation anxiety if you're not careful.

By the sounds of your housing situation would go for the Min Pinscher as they need the least amount of back yard to run around in. Very cute doggies too!!

I personally, would go for a miniature pincer ~ Reason? Firstly.,,, I have Doberman pincers ~ they do need a lot of space,.. however, a miniature does not ~ and they have a loyal, intelligent nature ~ Unconditional love,....good luck! :)

John, I am the happy owner of a pomeranian! Selecting a dog that is right for you is very important! Given the 3 choices, I personally would go with the I. G., only because I know most "terrier" breeds do tend to have a noticable body odor, and the M.P., does @ times tend to be more "emotional"? or a little needy...perhaps, LOL! I love them all! But that is my fina thought. Best of luck! Also....DO get pet ins. it is cheap! but worth it!
