Oh i am a very big fan of pups too ! I do actually own two weiner dogs, i love them alot and they are really fun.They are very smart, very playfull and very fast!! Lol..i do like your choice too, yorkies are great too,they seem to be one of the most inteligent bread from what i heard so if you like them alot then you better take one.Pom more are very cute too. You have to understand that all these bread of dogs we are talking about here are small breads, which is good and helpfull, for instance you dont have a very big house so a big dog would feel not so good but a small one would feel great! They are more ''home'' close, then running arround a big yard , so i would say any of these breads are suitable for you if you say you like small bread dogs.Good luck with your choice and let me know what names would you choose for him/her.What do you prefer? A girl or a boy puppy?

Pomeranians are more fluffy and cute, and yorkie's can be really cute too. I would rather have a Pom, but a friend of mine has a Yorkie, he's just doesn't stay clean...he has bad hair or bad skin something! I would go for the Pom. Yorkies are more personable I think, although Poms are a sweet handful too, I've had two, the first one ran behind our friends car as he was backing out of our driveway and died instantly. The other one is Betty Lou,, she just passed away last month after a very loved and pampered 7 years. Yorkies are so humorous but hyper. I would suggest a Jack Russell Terrier, that's what I have now. Her name is Sunny and she is as sweet as she can be. So smart and so loyal. I love her to death.

U would not only be saving just one life but u would be saving another by making more room in the shelter for another dog that desperately needs it. Go on you tube and just have a look at all the dogs in shelters, it will break your heart. I used to have two Maltese, and they were adorable. We kept ours "puppy cut", b/c they require a LOT of grooming, but you could also put bows in their hair if you wanted to... although I must say, I reccommend going to the shelter too. They have Yorkie rescues out there, maybe you should research that. :-)

Well, you want a dog that will get along with cats. The best place to get a dog at is really a shelter. I wouldn't get a purbred. They always have alot o health proplems. At the pound you can ask if that dog gets along with cats. Most adult dogs at pounds are already trained to do most of the stuff you want them to do.

I really hope you don't want a little dog 'cause it's trendy. Yorkies are being seriously overbred and bred to be smaller and smaller which causes serious health problems especially with thier hearts. If you really want a dog and can give it a lot of attention and can devote 12-18 years of your life to it, go for it. Have you considered going through a dog rescue group? Every breed has a rescue group and there are a lot of toy breeds in foster care due to a lot of people not giving enough thought on how much care a dog requires. Cats are so much more independent and much easier to care for and more suitable for active young people who have school, jobs and a busy social life. To answer your question, I'm not crazy about toy breeds but Yorkies are the cutest! However, just make sure that you have an agreement (on paper) that your money will be refunded if the dog dies due to a genetic problem. And INSIST that you see the kennel (if there is one) to make sure it isn't a "puppy mill' and they aren't massively overbreeding or not taking care of their dogs. Try to get a puppy that was raised indoors and well socialized. And think about maybe adopting a toy breed from a rescue group (just type in like "Yorkshire Terrier rescue groups" on your computer). What about a toy poodle? They are probably the smartest of all the toy breeds. Be prepared to shell out big bucks on the cost of the puppy and the vet and toys and food. Most of the toy breeds start around $500 but Yorkies seem to average around $700. And please make sure that you really want a dog and not just a fashion accessory! I'm not saying that to be mean but you did say "that I could put bows in their hair". I love baby clothes and would love to buy cute little girl outfits but I know I'm not ready to have a baby, you know what I mean??? Also, think about your kitties! If you don't want to be vaccuuming constantly I wouldn't go with any of the profusely shedding dogs like a sheltie (14lbs) or a Pom (6-9lbs).

Yorkies are not very sturdy so I would personally rather have a maltese. You can put bows in a maltese's hair although certain dogs would rather you just cut it short. I'm not sure how easy it would be to put a bow in a pom's hair.

Don't let anyone tell you their's a non-shedding or hypoallergenic dog. These are non-existent. Ther are however dogs that shed very little.

If you can`t decide what breed to get i would just keep looking

at petfinder when you see one you like then check it out in the shelter many times ppl come in the shelter for one dog that they saw online and then the fall in love with anothe dog.

The mixed breeds a cute,mebay you can find a yorki/pom mix you never know.
